Regenerative Medicine

Western Medicine has found methods of tapping into the body’s regenerative potential using techniques such as prolotherapy. This modality uses a gentle yet powerful stimulus to engender proliferation of tissue that is substantially stronger than simple scar. Prolotherapy consists of injecting a concentrated dextrose (sugar) solution into joints, tendons, and ligaments within 1 millimeter of the damaged areas using real-time ultrasound guidance. These sets of injections are designed to target not just the painful or damaged structure, but also the surrounding structures to ensure that they are all working well in concert with one another. Many patients can see years of relief with one series of 5-6 sessions, and some are even able to postpone surgery indefinitely!
